Modern
Generations of artists succeed and influence one another, each leaving an original and memorable mark on their era. They reveal accomplished art and the mindset of their time.
Acquiring works of art renowned for their quality, inventiveness, and relevance, building and managing a collection, and asserting a refined taste are rare privileges to which Magna Gallery Paris devotes its passion for collecting. The gallery and its many international partners support a clientele of private art lovers and collectors. It also collaborates with museums, institutions, and public authorities in acquiring both ancient and modern works of art.
Under the direction of Rodrigue Naucelles, the Secondary Market Department of Magna Gallery Paris focuses on the promotion and sale of 20th-century artworks. The gallery offers a selection of significant pieces, chosen for their unique beauty and the emblematic nature of their creators. Paintings, drawings, works on paper, preparatory pieces, and sculptures illustrating the major artistic movements of the twentieth century are assembled to provide an unparalleled horizon for collectors whose collections have become part of cultural heritage.
A straightforward and transparent goal: to assign a fair financial value to works of art available for purchase.
A work’s value must reflect its beauty, uniqueness, rarity, and state of preservation. The gallery gathers all available specific and general data, considering the latest commercial and artistic developments related to the artist. Magna Gallery offers comprehensive expertise, beyond the originality and beauty of a work: its meaning and the lasting market value it holds are key aspects of our department’s knowledge and skills.
With this passionate spirit, we are able to provide our clients with personalized services for any project involving the sale or acquisition of modern or contemporary artworks. Systematically and free of charge, the gallery ensures traditional services associated with such transactions: condition reports, provenance tracking, origin identification, and certificates from relevant committees or rights holders.
Our gallery is an open forum for exchange, committed to transparency in our work and encouraging the sharing of information for the benefit of all. The gallery regularly organizes conferences and presentations of artists, unveiling emerging modern or contemporary figures, rediscovering major movements of pictorial thought, and, of course, celebrating the passion for collecting. If collecting is an art—the art of choosing with taste and discernment—then it is to this spirit that Magna Gallery dedicates its grand endeavor.
Three prestigious exhibitions are held annually in Paris (25 Rue de Beaune). Under the banner Magna Opera, these events bring together 30 carefully selected works revolving around a specific movement or theme, most of which originate from private collections.
